    We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Big Data Architect to join our dynamic data science and engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing the company’s conceptual and logical data systems. You will also oversee the implementation of data architecture solutions, ensure smooth system migrations, and prepare architecture reports. Key responsibilities include selecting and integrating Big Data tools, monitoring performance, and ensuring that data systems are secure, scalable, and efficient.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Design and build scalable, reliable Big Data architectures.
    • Collaborate with data scientists and other architects to implement data-driven solutions.
    • Select and integrate appropriate Big Data tools and frameworks.
    • Implement and optimize ETL processes to ensure efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading.
    • Supervise the migration of data from legacy systems to modern solutions.
    • Monitor the performance of data systems and recommend infrastructure upgrades when necessary.
    • Prepare detailed database architecture and design reports.
    • Define data retention policies to optimize storage and compliance.
    • Test, troubleshoot, and integrate new system features.
    • Ensure the security, integrity, and availability of all data assets.
    • Stay informed about the latest industry trends and technologies in Big Data.
    • Evaluate and introduce new tools and techniques to continuously improve data infrastructure.
    • Work closely with IT teams to integrate Big Data platforms with existing systems and workflows.
       

    Required Technical Skills

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
    • 3-5+ years of experience in Big Data and analytics (adjust based on requirements).
    • Strong knowledge of enterprise BI and analytics platforms.
    • Experience with Hadoop and other Big Data frameworks (e.g., Spark, Hive).
    • Understanding of industry-specific applications of Big Data solutions.
    • Knowledge of the underlying infrastructure required for Big Data solutions.
    • Expertise in deploying and managing large, distributed Big Data applications.
    • Experience in designing, building, and operating cloud-based Big Data services.
    • In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms, particularly AWS or Azure, in the context of big data.
    • Exceptional analytical abilities for managing and interpreting vast datasets.
    • Proven experience in optimizing and fine-tuning performance for big data systems.
    • Solid understanding of data warehousing principles and ETL processes.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills combined with strong architectural insight.
    • Effective communication skills, capable of clearly explaining complex technical concepts.
       

    Preferred Skills

    • Experience with data analysis, data management, and database architecture.
    • Preferred experience in designing and implementing big data solutions using big data technologies such as Hadoop.
    • Strong understanding of database structures and data mining techniques.
