    Job Overview of Integration Architect

We are looking for an Integration Architect at Visitant. This role is all about cloud strategy and how we adopt it for our apps, platforms, & infrastructure as a service. As the architect, you’ll help define what we need. The principles and models you create will guide our technology decisions. It’s all about keeping things in line with our IT & enterprise goals. You’ll be responsible for setting architecture standards, frameworks, & guidelines. You’ll also be hands-on in the review process to ensure solutions follow our published standards. Collaborating closely with Solution Architects, Engineering teams, and Development groups is key to showing the value of new infrastructure service models.

    Responsibilities

    • Establish, document, and communicate the technical and architectural specifications for both current and future systems within a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) environment.
    • Define and manage the creation of reusable application components, services, and processes to promote efficiency and consistency across systems.
    • Provide architectural guidance and oversight for integration projects, ensuring alignment with overall system architecture and strategic goals.
    • Specify the structure of services, frameworks, component models, and interfaces to ensure cohesive integration and interoperability.
    • Conduct design and pre-implementation reviews to ensure high-quality software development and to prevent redundant efforts in addressing similar application or integration challenges across different projects.
    • Collaborate with third-party vendors to develop or integrate their software into the enterprise architecture, ensuring compatibility and scalability.
    • Assess emerging technologies and software solutions to determine their potential value and suitability for incorporation into the organization's technology ecosystem.
    • As an Integration Architect, you will identify & publish tech standards, frameworks, and roadmaps. These will guide our IT decisions and find efficiency opportunities. You’ll drive the design for a secure, efficient, & adaptable future model too.
    • It’s important that new projects align with our IT budget and strategic goals. You will research tech adoption opportunities and analyze how new technologies impact our IT setup. Keeping an eye on best practices in enterprise architecture allows us to figure out what fits best with Visitant.
    • You'll help Solution Architects & Project Managers match technology services to specific business needs and application development projects. Consistency across departments is important for an efficient infrastructure.
    • Educating engineers about the vision and use cases of solutions within our Enterprise Architecture portfolio is part of your job.
    • You’ll help develop and oversee principles & frameworks for Enterprise Architecture. Making sure we follow the EA strategy is crucial; exceptions should be well documented through a waiver process.
    • Using business requirements, you will identify and present alternative design solutions that meet customer needs.
    • Prioritizing requirements during software development using traditional & agile techniques is another key part of your role. Creating use case diagrams to clarify the scope is essential.

    Scope of Responsibility

    • You’ll directly impact enterprise-wide tech investments.
    • You define infrastructure standards & guidelines.
    • Matching technology services to business architecture needs? That’s on you!
    • Analyzing trade-offs when granting exceptions or waivers is part of the job too.

    Skills and Knowledge Requirements

We need someone with over 8 years of infrastructure engineering or design experience. You should be good at recommending infrastructure solutions across various platforms. You need solid skills in at least 3 of these areas:
