Contract Position : Senior Database Administrator

Job Description:
· Design, Configure and Maintain Oracle, Postgres and MySQL databases in on premises data centers and AWS Cloud
· Establish and maintain sound recovery and backup policies and procedures
· Design, Installation, configuration, patching and upgrading of Oracle 19C database server software and related products.
· Develop data migration plans to migrate legacy on-premises databases into AWS infrastructure.
· Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges), establish procedures to apply most recent Critical Patch Updates to the databases.
· Ensure data integrity and availability.
· Perform oncall duties to keep the lights up 24x7.
· Establish and execute periodic disaster recovery testing
· Capacity planning, Database licensing, security, and encryption
· Evaluation of database features and database related products
· Setup and maintain documentation and standards
· BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
· Solid scripting skills using Shell, Python.
· 6+ years of Database Administration experience, with 3+ years of Oracle experience.
· Experience with performance diagnostics, performance tuning, including analysis, hints, profiles and baselines
· Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
