We are looking for an experienced Tableau Developer to design and implement data visualization solutions that enhance business processes. In this role, you will be responsible for generating Tableau dashboard reports, and business intelligence visualizations, and collaborating with other developers to create impactful data-driven insights.

A Tableau Developer acts as a technical resource within a specific department or functional area, responsible for designing, developing, and modifying reports and dashboards. They handle data preparation, establish connections to data sources, create and publish workbooks, develop extracts, and perform complex tasks like integrating Tableau with R. The role also involves collaborating with IT for approvals, coordinating data migrations, and ensuring smooth transitions to the production environment.

The Tableau Developer serves as the primary contact for their department, coordinating with multiple stakeholders, including functional users, the Tableau Admin team, database administrators, and data governance teams. They manage the development, publishing, testing, and troubleshooting of dashboards and data sources, ensuring efficient performance and functionality.

Key Role

• Data Preparation: Prepare data for use in Tableau by transforming and organizing it into suitable formats.
• Data Source Connections: Establish and manage connections to new and existing data sources.
• Dimension and Measure Creation: Add or create necessary dimensions, measures, and calculations for reports.
• Data Modeling: Perform data modeling within Tableau Desktop to ensure accurate data representation.
• Workbook Development: Create workbooks and hyperextracts using Tableau Desktop.
• Publishing: Publish workbooks and data sources to Tableau Development and QA environments.
• Extract Management: Refresh and monitor extract schedules on QA and development sites.
• Testing: Conduct unit testing on development and QA sites to validate functionality.
• Issue Resolution: Address and resolve any data or performance issues related to workbooks and data sources.
• Coordination: Act as the department's point of contact for IT coordination, data migration, and sign-offs before production deployment.
• Problem Solving: Addressing and resolving any data or performance-related issues with workbooks and data sources.
   

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain complex Tableau reports that are scalable, manageable, and optimized for performance.
• Conduct unit testing to ensure the quality and functionality of Tableau reports.
• Provide technical expertise in system architecture, design, and implementation strategies.
• Collaborate with team members to develop meaningful reports and dashboards that offer valuable insights, automate processes, or drive business improvements.
• Participate in iterative review cycles to refine and enhance dashboard functionality based on user feedback.
• Ensure coding and style consistency by adhering to established software development guidelines.
• Resolve support tickets related to Tableau reports and troubleshoot any issues.
   

Requirements

• Proven experience in developing Tableau dashboards and analytics.
• Ability to query, visualize, and present large datasets effectively while optimizing workbook performance.
• Skilled at interpreting technical requirements and translating complex business needs into actionable technical specifications.
• Familiarity with Tableau administration and architecture.
• Advanced Tableau development expertise.
• High proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and macros.
• Strong understanding of advanced calculations and statistical functions within Tableau.
• Solid grasp of SQL, relational database management, data modeling, and normalization principles.
• Strong communication skills with an emphasis on attention to detail and accuracy.
