- Install, configure, and maintain Oracle database environments.
- Design and implement database backup solutions and disaster recovery strategies.
- Enhance database performance by fine-tuning configuration settings.
- Diagnose and resolve database issues, contributing to system improvements.
- Develop, implement, and enforce database security measures to ensure data protection.
- Collaborate with teams to ensure database operations and data integrity.

- Maintain reports, dashboards, and visualizations for data workflows.
- Work directly with clients to understand requirements and provide technical guidance on database architecture and specifications.

- Define, document, and enforce database standards and models to optimize capacity and performance.
- Develop and execute test code in client-server environments to ensure software adheres to standards.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and tools to improve database administration practices.
- Minimize database downtime, manage performance parameters, and ensure fast query responses.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and operational performance metrics, especially during critical events.
- Expertise in SQL and SQL server tools.
- Advanced knowledge of database security, backup, recovery, and performance monitoring.
- Proficiency in relational and dimensional data modeling.
- Strong skills in PowerShell and Unix shell scripting.
- High attention to detail, with excellent mathematical and statistical abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field.
- Knowledge of Linux and Windows Server infrastructure.
- Comprehensive understanding of database technologies (e.g., MySQL, MS SQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB).
- Must possess or be eligible for a DoD Secret Clearance with SSBI.
- Familiarity with Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), ASM, and Active Data Guard.
- Prior experience with DBA tools (frontend and backend) and third-party database management tools.
- Thorough understanding of database standards and end-user applications, with the ability to translate capacity needs into infrastructure deployment solutions.
- Proficiency in learning and adapting to a wide range of new technologies.
- Strong foundation in various IT domains and practices.
- Keen interest in maintaining thorough documentation.
- Commitment to following and promoting best practices.
- Experience working with other relational database management systems such as PostgreSQL, Vertica, and MySQL.
- Previous experience in the retail industry is an advantage.
- Proven experience with Oracle Database Administration for versions 10g and higher on both Unix and Windows platforms.
- Hands-on expertise in developing and implementing business continuity and disaster recovery strategies.
- Experience with configuring Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), Grid Control, and generating Statspack reports.
- At least 3+ years of experience leading a team of five or more members, with the ability to provide status updates to senior management.
- Ability to lead the team and provide technical guidance and solutions.
- Proficiency in performance tuning and optimization of Oracle database servers.
